FoxesTalk Forum Official Site / News About the Club Foxes Trust

Welcome to AusFox.net, the site for the Leicester City Supporters Club of Australia. I hope that this site offers the information you need on Foxes fans' activities downunder.

The club is just a show up on the day affair with no membership required, as we work towards a large organised fanbase that many other clubs' supporters enjoy in Australia.

Let us know if there is no contact listed for your state, and you'd like to be one. If you are also part of any existing Foxes fan clubs, let us know that too!

The site was set up for the beginning of the 06/07 season as a way for fans in Australia to organise and participate in events.

The branch links at the top of the page currently all link to the events page. As branches grow, if they choose to run their own webspace then they will eventually link there.

We are always looking for fans to come along to functions, so please don't hesitate to contact anyone listed on our site.

"Nigel Pearson's blue and white army!"

Cheers,
AusFox.net team

Comments: "I'm a relative newcomer to the Foxes. I jumped on board for the 05/06 season due to having family originating from Lesta. It's been a difficult time for the club so it's great to have witnessed the recent happenings surrounding Milan and his takeover bid.

"I'm also a passionate Celtic and Melbourne Victory supporter."

Michael DoyleName: Michael Doyle

City hero: There are so many. Mike Stringfellow, Allan Wollett, Peter Shilton, Bob Hazel, Allan Young, Steve Lynex, Frank Worthington (who told me to nic off in Baileys the nite club), Mark Wallington, Steve Whitworth, Keith Weller, Emile Hesky, Tony Cottee, Savage, Lennon, Gary Lineker, Martin O’Neill I could go on forever.

First LCFC memory: Beating Manchester United

Favourite home game: Beating Leatherhead in the FA Cup after falling 2 - 0 behind to the non league team

Favourite away game: Beating Ipswich at Portman Road and getting into the players lounge after the game and meeting John Wark

Favourite away ground: I liked the old Highbury

Last game attended: Leicester 3 - Southampton 2, 2006

Team I dislike: None really. I don't like the big money in the game or the thought of Mr Average not being able to attend a game because it's too expensive.

Soft spot: At the moment Arsenal. They are great to watch when on song. I would also like to see West Ham stay up.

Comments: "I went to Sacred Heart Primary School and Mandela Boys School when living in Leicester where I lived until I was 28 prior to moving to Perth, Western Australia. Cant remember when I first stated supporting the mighty and magnificent Leicester City Football Club as I can always remember them being part of my life. I do recall one of my early games being against Manchester United the team my brother in law supported. As it was him that took me to the games I can remember having the last laugh when we beat them on that day which is to long ago that I care to remember.

"Latterly, I was very privileged that a friend of mine used to look after the players lounge door at the old Filbert Street and I got into the rooms on many occasions. It was great fun. I can remember befriending the parents of players at half time whilst having a cup of tea and being introduced to the players when they made their way into the rooms after the game. The bar was also free which was an additional bonus. My dear friend has now passed away but his memory lives long as do many more great days watching Leicester City Football Club.

"I was also coming through customs in Perth in 1997 with a football signed by the winning Coca-Cola Cup final team. It turned out that the lady customs officer used to go school with Steve Guppy. Small world!"

Leon DowmanName: Leon Dowman

Branch: New South Wales

City hero: Keith Weller / Martin O’Neill

First LCFC memory: v Celtic 2003

Favourite home game: v Celtic 2003

Favourite away game: Manchester United 0 Leicester City 1

Favourite away ground: Parkhead

Last game attended: v Sheffield United 2005

Team I dislike: Glasgow Rangers

Soft spot: Celtic

Comments: "I have been a City fan for about 18 months. I became a Fox after following the boys in blue when I met my best mate Ben whilst travelling. I have now adopted them as my English team. My team will always be Celtic but Blue and White has now started running through my usually Green veins (nothing to do with Rangers I might add)."

Anna ThompsonName: Anna Thompson

Branch: New South Wales

City hero: Milan Mandaric

First LCFC memory: Milan taking over!

Favourite home game: TBA

Favourite away game: TBA

Favourite away ground: St James Park

Last game attended: TBA

Team I dislike: Coventry Boo Hiss

Soft spot: England

Comments: "Unfortunately I have never seen the Foxes as I am Australian and have never visited England, but I do take a huge interest in them and have for the past year. I got in to the Foxes due to my boyfriend being a huge fan. I have watched them play many times on the TV and can’t wait til I visit Leicester so I can go to the Walkers. I am really excited about the Milan Mandaric era and hope we can get back to the Premier Division where we belong!"

Steve MackanessName: Steve Mackaness

Branch: North Queensland

City hero: Too many! Gary Lineker, Steve Lynex, Bob Hazell, John O’Neill are early memories! STEVE WALSH! Of course Stevie Claridge from the Martin O'Neill era

First LCFC memory: Leicester v Liverpool – at Filbo 3-3 with Andy Peake scoring a couple of 25 yarders!

Favourite home game: Any game in which we beat Coventry, Leicester 3-0 Manchester Utd – Alan Smith double. Tony James scoring and Leicester winning 1-0 against Oxford to stay up!

Favourite away game: Crystal Palace 1 - 2 Leicester City, May 96 Div 1 Playoff final

Favourite away ground: The old Wembley I guess! So many Playoff memories... The MCG although I can’t see Leicester scheduling any pre-season games there!

Last game attended: v Luton Town 2005

Team I dislike: Coventry City – I used to work with a lot of Coventry fans. Mental scars from that I guess!

Soft spot: Northampton Town – lived close to Northampton in my UK days and went to the odd match at Sixfields

Comments: "Moved out to Australia in March 2003 and I do miss my football – my Leicester City! Family come and visit with or without an invite - but as I mentioned above convincing LCFC to travel downunder could present a problem. Still if Wimbledon can move to Milton Keynes, I guess anything is possible!"
